Deep Roots in Broncos Country

8

2016 was an important and exciting year for Broncos fans, the players, and the whole state of Colorado. As the Broncos have only won three Superbowl’s, the team winning the 2016 Superbowl was a memory that all fans and Coloradoans will never forget. I remember going to the parade in Downtown Denver, filled with crowds of orange and smiles on everyone’s faces as they celebrated the momentous win for Bronco’s nation. The happiness and inclusivity witnessed and felt all throughout the city is a feeling I will never forget. The whole city was feeling those emotions for months afterward.

Watching the team you love and have supported for years, live in a big game after years of losing and struggling is a feeling that cannot be put into words. The game of football or any other sport, gives its fans a sense of hope and that hope ascends even further when they are titled Superbowl Champions. This was my first time seeing the Broncos win a Superbowl since I was born in ’99. I watched all the games with my dad and brother, the amount of pure joy and bonding with my family was incomparable as the Broncos continued to dominate on the football field. Watching the Superbowl trophy make its way through the players, the team, who’s dreams have been accomplished is breathtaking. You feel a sense of warmth when watching them celebrate driving through the city on firetrucks, admiring their fans who have supported them through it all. Its also fun shutting up all the haters.

Watching members of the franchise and team adoring their fans while the fans are showering the Champions with their love and support is another reason why the Broncos are so special to me. As the players road through the jam-packed streets of Denver, it made me appreciate the city that I live in and everything about the state of Colorado and I was so proud of our football team. The culture of sports along with the team and their fans, creates a unique atmosphere and produces a community. I will never forget the memories of the parade and the Broncos will always be a special team to me because they are apart of the beautiful state, I grew up in.

The Bronco’s represent the state of Colorado and Colorado also holds a special place in my heart. It is the place I plan to live in for the rest of my life, while starting my adult life in. Colorado represents beautiful animals, land, mountains, views and people. This is an inclusive state that supports people of all shapes, sizes and colors while fighting for what’s right in our world and society. I am proud to be a Bronco’s fan and am even more proud to be a Colorado Native. I’m looking forward to watching the Broncos defeat and dominate this season and I will support them all season, in hopes of making it to another Superbowl and winning that Championship. GO BRONCOS!
